Travis MacDonald’s Agara Music returns this week for the labels fourth overall release. It features the return of Canadian duo Beat Syndrome to the label for their first single. Hamed Safi & Navid Mehr aka Beat Syndrome helped launch the Agara imprint with their remix of Travis MacDonald’s ‘Time Sense’ which was the labels first release in November of 2012. The duo’s first single for the label is entitled ‘Fallen’ and it comes with remixes from: Jelly For The Babies and Alberto Blanco & Marcelo Paladini.
The ‘Fallen’ original has been touted by many as Beat Syndrome’s best work to date and we’d be inclined to agree. A contemporary, club friendly groove sits at the foundation while layers of soft harmonies and lush atmospheres drift through the framework. The tracks flows effortlessly towards the main break with classy chord changes and melodic subtleties weaving some serious aural magic. The windswept drop paints a wonderful harmonic soundscape which is truly breathtaking. Clusters of bubbly melodies and wispy atmospheres lead to a smooth climax which presents the well crafted groove once more. An outstanding composition from Beat Syndrome.
The first remix is supplied by Jelly For The Babies who is making his first appearance on Agara here. Serbian producer Marijan Raskovic aka Jelly For The Babies would have to be one of the most prolific progressive house producers around. In just over 3 years Marijan has racked up a discography that includes over 150 releases and in 2013 he’s already released 16 new productions. The fact that he’s incredibly prolific hasn’t hurt his production quality at all as he always delivers something well produced and great for the dance floor whether it be big room progressive or deeper sounding house. For his ‘Fallen’ interpretation Jelly For The Babies has crafted a mammoth 11 minute mix that takes all those lush melodic elements from the original and lays them down perfectly over a deeper progressive groove which really hits the spot. Epic stuff from Jelly For The Babies who continue on a great run of productions.
The final remix on the package is supplied by Alberto Blanco & Marcelo Paladini who are also making their first appearance on Agara. As far as we can tell this is the first time these two fine Argentinean producers have worked together. The majority of Alberto’s previous productions have been in conjunction with Matias Vila while Marcelo has been working solo since his production career began in mid 2011. The duos first production together certainly goes down as a huge success as they’ve delivered a very cool interpretation of ‘Fallen’. Alberto and Marcelo have managed to take some of the elements from the original and twist them into a deep, brooding and incredibly moody rework that proves to be an excellent complement to the package. Excellent work from the Argentinean duo and a superb release from Agara which we think is their strongest to date. Highly recommended. Releasepromo
